 01  Who am I and what do I do?

I'm a professional translator who understands the importance of getting your video games to another level, where they are perceived by foreign gamers as if these games have been developed for their own local market. I help you achieve this goal by means of high quality localization - in my case - into Russian and/or Ukrainian languages.

 02  What tools do I use?

When localizing your video game or app, I use proprietary databases of video game glossaries, as well as such useful instruments as Trados and Tag Editor.

By utilizing the CAT tools I speed up the translating process and optimize your localization costs, making sure that you pay only once for localizing identical or very similar phrases.


The result is cost-effective localization plus glossaries for your video game or app that can be used when localizing your next project or two.

 

 

 03  What is a loc kit and why do we need to have it?

Loc kit (or localization kit) is generally a set of your game or app-related materials that include all in-game or in-app text strings, textures containing any text, speech records (optionally), etc. I use the loc kit to translate your video game or app text into your target audience's native language and adapt it in a way that your game is perceived as if it has been developed in the target language from the very start.

You need a really good localization? Then sending me your text is probably not enough. Context is king. I need as more info about your game, its characters, setting, structure and plot, as possible. A game-related wiki is great, but if your loc kit includes description of levels and game situations, this will empower your chosen localization team immensely.

Worried about possible early leaks of info about your video game or app? Before starting the loc process I sign my typical NDA (or one provided by the developer) to make you sleep well at night.

 04  What are my rates?

My rates are always reasonable and competitive, though quoted on an individual basis depending on the volume, specifics and complexity of localization work required to be done. Be sure to drop me a line asking for a prompt quotation: you will not be disappointed.
